All three Schrodinger articles were a wonderful exploration of metaphysics -- well-written, informative, clear, engaging -- raised a lot of ideas new to me. I'm very glad to have read them.
The range of these ideas, as a whole, sends me back to Heidegger's concept of Being, which is monistic and irreducible. For the mind to try to understand Being is like rock-climbing up a perfectly smooth wall. Heidegger thinks of Being as a complete, impenetrable mystery. In this light, metaphysics is speculative. Although we love it -- speculation is fun, interesting and thought-provoking!
