All very good points! I gulped when you mentioned paraplegic. I was thinking of people who live their lives in fear of all sorts of potential calamities.

I saw the Honnold movie and found a connection with him. Unless I find purpose in idle moments, I'm not happy unless I'm doing something that feels like something. Often that was mountaineering.

Perhaps it's all risk management -- tradeoffs of risk and reward.
