Consider the fundamental premise behind Trump's stipulations -- the ground, the why -- the premise that our form of government (as stipulated by the Constitution) doesn't work (any more).

Many people believe our form of government doesn't work. They believe this for naive empirical reasons -- reasons which generate emotional conviction.

Democrats have been telling us at least since Obama that our form of government can work ("yes, we can").

The GOP strategy at least since Obama has been to thwart any attempt to make government work. The GOP succeeded. The Democrats' accomplishments were not enough to shake people's emotional convictions.

To reverse the tide requires near-monolithic Democrats control of government , so they can enact their agenda, so the people can see that our form of government does in fact work -- that Trump's premise and stipulations are about trying to fix something that's not broken.

This could happen if Trump's agenda goes down like the Titanic -- assuming we have free and fair elections, and people take their eyes off their screens.

Between Project 2025 and a sleepwalking population, the chance of America getting back on track looks slim before climate change takes us down. (Apologies for my pessimism.)
