Fred-Rick, I read the first few paragraphs of your linked article, bookmarked it for deeper reading, and reread your comment.
As a quick reaction, I see structural engineering as an inherent structure of reality, similar to what I think is sometimes referred to as the figure/ground relationship. Or maybe similar to Deleuze with his differences. (That the instant you identify something, you identify its absence?)
It sounds like truth units start from this point, taking the structure of reality you describe as a given -- structure is where we start, and truth units is where we run with the ball from there. I think there is "truth" in reality itself, but it's the way people process the "inputs" they get from reality that truth units address.
