"How and for what do you pray?"

First, your poem crystallized what for me is the meaning of life. It's kinda like what the Beatles said: "The love you take is equal to the love you make." However, the word love is potentially limiting here. The meaning of life is in giving not taking. Life is not what you want things to be. Life is what you make. We are each a zero, but we can make life more than a zero. You might ask "how does one make life more than zero?" I'm not sure, but it's the opposite of making life about me. It's important to realize that you have to give to yourself too. Act, don't sit still and expect life to come to you.

I pray that I give rather than take. I don't pray for that explicitly, because doing that is my impetus. Sadly, I just beat myself up when I fail to do it. Perhaps I should pray that I stop beating myself up so much.
