I agree with every point you raise, except I think you are wrong in thinking that is the book’s argument. I read it, and I saw the book was raising questions and introducing ideas, not so much making an argument. I don’t think the living of the two authors would minimize any of the very relevant points you make, and neither do I. They make me very pessimistic.
