I did enjoy your piece! It's funny, I was a literature major in college. Most of my courses were in 20th-century American and British poetry. After college, I read quite a few contemporary novels (Pynchon, Barth, Heller, Updyke, Mailer, Kosinski, Nabokov, etc). In short, I delighted in leaps of thought, reaching for the unreachable -- reading them and producing them. Then in middle age, perhaps when I got into Wittgenstein, I did a 180. I started reading (and still do read) almost entirely nonfiction ("just the facts, ma'am") and write on Medium to craft a coherent order of my thoughts. (I still have wild thoughts, but share them on a pretty limited basis.) Maybe it's a little like how when I get a plate of meat, vegetables and starch, I sometimes eat all of one, then all of another, then all of the third, rather than jump back and forth between them. I'm really glad to have made this connection with you, and look forward to more!
