I gave this 50 claps, for several things: storytelling, insight into humanity, sense of cultural and zeitgeist, and Pynchonesque wanderings.
But most of all, like any great work, it illuminates such a range of human experience. I have been acquainted with people in Yartzs in different places and times, Yartzs with both broad and narrow different issue-focuses.
This piece captures the poignance, pride and disdain one can have for the way people in any given Yartz evolve over time-- from the initial "charge" to either departure, or to actually maintaining the "charge" or remaining in the Yartz and just withering into a shadow life.
One person in their life could go through different Yartzs at different times with different outcomes living somewhere inside them for the rest of their lives. I certainly see these evolutions in myself.
Your portrait paints a picture that connects a lot of little things we rarely connect on our own.
