I haven't read this piece or its comments. I'm here from reading your comments on Brnjamin Cain's excellent piece on Edmund Burke, which you said are reflected in this piece.

I"ve read a fair amount of material on evolution, biology, neuroscience and psychology. It all essentially agrees with you. (It's painful to me if people don't get it.) If you go to the pieces I've written, "20 Years of Schooling..." lists my reading after the sections on philosophy.

One point by Nettle, I forget which book, talks about how in a threat-free environment, happy fish thrive and fearful fish die. In a threat-filled environment, the happy fish die and the fearful fish thrive.

I really like how you are approaching these questions through AI.
