If I'm understanding Lyotard's ideas correctly, then we should encourage, welcome and digest micro-narratives, that the health of society depends on it. For me, in trying to listen to micro-narratives, the phrase regimens don't always lend themselves to understanding -- the community is talking to itself, so to speak, seemingly deliberately excluding communication at the same time they ask to be understood -- bridge-building takes two? It doesn't seem healthy for micro-narratives to become an end in themselves, when the need to self-validate is pushed beyond a certain point (of being able to positively assert the community) such that it reinforces exclusionary "tribalism." That seems like a common problem today.
