Is thanking God for your team's victory a sign that you don't actually believe in God?

Just asking! A God you thank for victory is a "different" and arguably lesser God than the one the loves all his humans equally. Or at least that's what I'd construe from your point. Is that too harsh? Like one of the commenters, I can also see it as essentially a cultural rather than spiritual thing.
