I really like your concise definition of consciousness. I'm tempted to say, if someone else has a different definition, to ignore their definition, because they're barking up the wrong tree to begin with.
I wish you followed through on your headline and explained why you thought the Hard Problem was impossible to solve. After all, arguably, anyone who knows what the Hard Problem is already understands your perspective on it once they've read your article.
(I feel very awkward saying this... eventually I want to write a Medium article with my proposed solution to the Hard Problem. I'm sure it's inadequate, but it seems less inadequate than anything I've read (Dennett, McGinn, Damasio, Chalmers, Solms, Searle) and I'd love to hear how people have moved the discourse past it in whatever way.
