The trajectory or narrative arc that emerged for me from this piece is Ayn Rand on steroids -- life is about fulfilling your will to power, functioning society be damned. Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols said "I don't know what I want but I know how to get it." It’s one thing to want absolute power, it's another to want what will be left in the world once you get it. I doubt they've thought that out, since they don't need to.

A year ago you told me to be hopeful. Would you still offer the same encouragement? :)
