Some libertarian positions seem essentially reactionary -- they're simply against new laws and regulations rather than laws and regulations period. Underneath this are hints of "I managed to game or co-opt the old laws and regulations, so let's leave things where they are -- don't try to correct my gaming of the system." I wonder how Libertarians would feel about taking their philosophy seriously and starting from a blank slate. which sounds like a Hobbesian State of Nature to me--why would anyone choose "nasty, brutish and short"?
