Some years back, I read that happiness goes up as one has more money, but tops out at a comfortable income (more or less middle class -- whatever that means -- enough to keep up with the Jones's?) If you feel like saying "f--- you!" how happy can you be? If people bother you, why not move to the wilderness and live off the land? Does the "f--- you!" mindset reduce to selfishness and immaturity: wanting to take but never give? It seems America is famous for that.
