Thank you for advocating like this. Being charitable to Greene, I'm fine with atoms, etc, underlying our thought. But this clearly doesn't mean we are robots. Even from a strict science perspective, our brains were given to us by evolution so that we could make on-the-spot deductions and decisions. If we couldn't think and act with agency, how could our species gotten to where it has today? Or does Greene (who I respect) think he is a robot playing a tape nature implanted in him?
