The idea that dead people have a say politics is utterly absurd. Whether Chesterton meant that literally or not, some version of that principle is a premise of any argument he might make based upon it. The backward-ness of that principle resembles that of the most ancestor-worshipping primitive societies and of IVF opponents today.
