This was a great read, but I don't understand it, I don't get the point. I began listening to radio in the 60s. The DJ was never really part of the picture for me. I either liked the song on the air or I didn't. I admired DJs who were good curators, but only for their curation. There were very few who added anything to the music, and those who did, did so by talking as curators. Was it because I was a snob, or because I lived in the SF Bay Area?
