Tim, if I may ask, what do these physics questions/problems imply for you about the nature of the cosmos and our presence in and relationship with it? Consider how these questions/problems looked to the pre-Socratics, to Newton, to Maxwell, to Einstein, and now to physicists today. It seems like today's science is so much more powerful yet ironically more helpless. As if the closer we get, the farther we are away, if for no other reason than lacking experiments to test ideas. What thoughts does spark for you about the road ahead for the enterprise of science?
