The far left seems blind to the historical failure rate of revolutions. Any person aware of history would choose reform over revolution to achieve social progress.

The far left and far right are both ideological. Ideology is the antithesis of pragmatism, which all reasonable people subscribe to.

My impression is that theory left is more of a distraction than a threat in the big picture, that most people ignore them. The damage they do doesn't steer the nation off course. To the extent they are just advocating change, they do some good.

Maybe I'm not fully aware of the damage they've done. I was in a "how not to be a racist" training. It was grim. My fellow participants were frightened (damaging in itself) and "confessed" to their racism as demanded (I didn't, and no one said anything). Hopefully they promptly forgot about the whole thing afterwards.

I realized that to not be a racist is as unrealistic as being a perfect Christian and never ever sinning. That was a mic-drop moment for me.
