"We are philosophers (whether we realize it or not)." Some of us have simple, shallow, dumbed-down philosophies. One reason, as you say, some of us are lazy. Another is that some of us are frightened. We want certainty, guarantees, safety, we want to feel we are standing on solid ground. And of course, none of us are standing on solid ground. We can never be certain of anything. So some of us cling to our philosophies to feel certain. Some of us are unwilling to engage in dialogue for fear of losing our self-assuredness in life and the world. Some of our philosophies are "just so," a rock-bottom, a firewall against doubt and discomfort. Some of us can't bear to experience the Heraclitean flux.
