We definitely overrate ourselves! Another thing is we seem to overrate our intelligence, as if we can somehow see beyond our world and peer into the infinite. We might see farther than other animals, but we still hit limits.

I wonder though if we are really more arrogant than other animals. Maybe other animals would destroy the environment if they had the ability. I wonder if the reason they don't is because they can't dominate nature to the extent we can. If they could, they might screw things up as badly as we have.
