You made your case very effectively, this quote being the pinnacle of it, imho. However, on a purely logical basis, perhaps there are two other options to consider:

(1) if you kill everyone hates you, then you succeed, assuming you don't make new enemies in the process. Israel can't do this, but it seems like China is doing it with the Uyghers, because they hide it from the people who care enough about the Uyghers to be motivated to kill the Chinese.

(2) What if fellow slaves killed Nat Turner before he murdered people? That would have saved many Black and White lives, and so it would have been a morally good act in a practical sense. Israelis might wonder why Palestinians haven't been killing Hamas murderers. From there, you can see why some Israelis might regard the Palestinians in some sense as accessories to Oct 7.

Again, I'm not making any moral judgments in any of the above. Every loss hurts. If I had to judge, I'd say "a pox on both their houses" from looking at the whole regional and historical picture.
